I have known Erin Chan Ding for seven years, since our sons were in kindergarten together. Erin is a person who listens well, seeks to hear all sides, and wants all voices to be heard and represented. She is a person of integrity, empathy and kindness. She looks for ways to serve others and her love of community. I give my highest endorsement for Erin to become a member of the Barrington 220 Board of Education.

Erin Chan Ding uses her research skills to listen to all sides of an issue to truly understand people’s perspectives, and asks smart questions to get to the root of a problem. She uses her platform to elevate ALL voices and wants to promote equity. Erin will utilize the skills and knowledge of all stakeholders, and will do so in a kind and respectful way. You can’t help but smile when she is in the room. She will be an excellent addition to the 220 School Board and we are lucky to have her!

Throughout this community, school is at the forefront of every parent's and grandparent’s mind.  It doesn’t matter whether you are a parent of young kids, a homeowner concerned about your property values – or somewhere in between - we need to make big-picture decisions now to shape our community for the years to come.  This is such an incredible community and we all deserve to feel the Barrington pride, coursing strong!
In 2021, it can feel hard to know where to put your trust.  Erin Chan Ding is an educated, energetic and deliberate big thinker who is going to put her years of listening, collaborating and advocating to work for the betterment of us all.  Erin has a true heart for service and equity.  She will spend this four-year term healing the temporary cracks to bring us forward with grace, integrity and resolve.  We can’t wait until April to cast our votes for Erin Chan Ding, BOE 220 Candidate!

We had the fortune to meet Erin at a D220 school fundraiser three years ago and have enjoyed getting to know her and her family since. Erin is fair, forward-thinking, inclusive, and thoughtful in her approach to all matters. She is a well-respected individual in our community and would be a great asset to our school board.     Erin and I met at Mothers of Preschoolers, or MOPS, many years ago, and our kids ended up in the same classes at Countryside and Hough. Erin is energetic (I can’t keep track of her marathons), wise, thoughtful, open-minded and passionate about serving our community. She will be a considerate, fair and diligent leader. I will be encouraging my friends and neighbors to vote for her!

I’m so happy Erin Ding has decided to run for District 220 Board of Education. We’ve known Erin since our boys were in kindergarten together. I am grateful that she has decided to serve the Barrington community in this capacity because she cares deeply about the things that matter (equity, strong educational opportunities for all and most importantly, being a person of integrity and character). Erin has great vision, passion and enough energy to no doubt give Barrington a "run" for its money. 🏃‍♀️ 😅        Barrington friends, please support Erin as she runs for this position to serve our community. She’s just an all-around wonderful human being.

Remarkable. Erin Chan Ding. I recommend her enthusiastically for the 220 Board of Education. As a longtime teacher in District 220, I have witnessed how important the school board is to the success of students. As careful stewards of tax dollars and caring visionaries, school board members have varied responsibilities. They have to balance the needs of all stakeholders and make difficult decisions.
I have attended many school board meetings during my career. I have sat across the table with the school board as we worked together to forge a fair contract. I have served on a variety of committees with school board members. An effective board member must be able to take the long view, the wide view, the inclusive view. They must be able to see an issue from all sides, and to treat all constituencies and each person with respect.  Further, to truly serve the needs of the community, they must care about people in the 220 community.
Erin Ding has all of these qualities. She's smart, invested in the community, is passionate about learning, and has demonstrated successful leadership. Erin is a careful observer and attentive listener, an active parent and a caring person. She has boundless energy and isn't afraid to tackle difficult issues. I cannot imagine a better, more qualified candidate for Barrington District 220's school board. The district, schools, students, teachers, and community will all benefit from Erin's insight and passion.

"The BEA recognizes the critical role each member of the Board of Education plays in a highly functioning school system. Those seeking election must do so with the understanding that this volunteer, unpaid position requires a lot of work and that they must find reward in that service alone. After a lengthy interview process, we identified four candidates who would be an asset to our Board of Education and the entire Barrington 220 community.
They exemplified the following key characteristics:
--An eagerness to dive deeply into a wide range of topics within education.
--A willingness to listen to a broad range of views and work collaboratively with all stakeholders.
--An understanding of the many accomplishments of the school district, but also of the great challenges ahead.
--A proactive approach to campaigning and the ability to mobilize support from the community.
With these things in mind we are excited to endorse Erin Chan Ding, Sandra Ficke-Bradford, Lauren Klauer, and Tom Mitoraj for the Barrington 220 School Board. We are confident these four highly competent and motivated individuals are the right choice for these critically important positions."

"Erin Chan Ding provides an enthusiastic, positive voice and a focus on equity and inclusiveness. A 39-year-old freelance journalist from South Barrington, she co-founded a racial justice ministry at Willow Creek Community Church, among other community involvement experiences. She was a Daily Herald college intern 21 years ago, which does not factor into our endorsement of her."
